Swedish designer Carl Blucher has created a New York style loft renovation in the heart of East London. A mix of midcentury-inspired modern furniture and antiques, typically 18th- and 19th-century pieces from candelabra to gilt-framed paintings bought in the UK or on trips to France and Sweden, bring depth and texture to this modern space. “They bring their own history to the room,” says Blucher. “I grew up in an eclectic home that was full of memories of our family’s travels – and now I’m building that for myself.”
